Three things I’m loving this week

Staycations. My vacations tend to be exhausting. I mean.. they are jam packed with stuff to do and places to go and things to see. But, this week between Christmas and New Year’s tends to be a lot more laid back. There is plenty of stuff I SHOULD do….and things I think I’m going to accomplish when I’m off all week long (like cleaning out the playroom or the basement), but I end up doing a lot of this — watching movies, taking walks, going to lunch, reading books, sleeping in….and it’s pretty awesome.

“The Passage” by Justin Cronin. My sister-in-law gave me this book and I was immediately intimidated by the size of it, the teeny-tiny print, and the plot (oh, you know I go look them up on Wikipedia, right?), but I waded in and was almost immediately hooked. It was worth the time and effort.  It is part of a trilogy, which is good because I liked the characters and want to see what happens next and bad because the other two books are just as big.

My new shoes. Is it weird that my favorite Christmas gift is a pair of shoes? I’m not even a shoe girl, but I just love these Sperry’s. Also, they remind me of summer, which I’m totally ready for now that Christmas is over.

Big, boisterous families. They can all drive me nuts, but I’m so blessed to be part of not just one, but TWO giant families.

45. This man is just an embarrassment. The United States is being led by a spoiled and petulant 13 year old, chubby man-child.

There’s nothing I hate more than the above.
