Things I’m loving this week
“Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.” I have to confess that I started and quit this book at least twice before. But, then one of my book club groups picked it and they urged me to stay with it because I would, eventually, be intrigued by the quirky Eleanor. They were right…and I can’t wait to go home and read more tonight.
Homemade pierogies. A friend of mine with honest-to-God Polish roots invited a bunch of us over for a little pierogi making party a couple of weeks ago (it’s an all afternoon, all-hands-on-deck operation) and….OMG, these are the best pierogies I’ve ever had in my life. I couldn’t pass that deal up, especially since I’ve been dying to see “The Handmaid’s Tale.” I’m three episodes in already and completely terrified for our future. Related: I’m also loving whoever did this to Melania’s creepy, creepy Christmas decor. (Like a friend said: “Another Christmas, another cry for help from the First Lady.”)

Christmas shopping. I currently have a total of two….count them two… Christmas presents purchased and it is now Dec. 6. I just cannot bring myself to even deal with it. Procrastination and avoidance are now a way of life for me. Maybe if I ignore it, it will all just go away …
