There’s still time to see Kelly and friends (like 80 of them) in the Erie Playhouse Youtheatre’s Rapunzel.

This is not your traditional Rapunzel but an entirely new musical, loosely based on the traditional tale of the young maiden with the mile-long tresses locked in the tower by a witch. The musical, written by Shawn Clerkin and Andrew Rainbow, has a few modern day twists and a lot of hidden jokes for the parents, if you pay attention.

More about the show plot here.

Kelly is in the ensemble and is a “Townsperson” and represents Mexico (complete with a sombrero) in the number in the second act.

Show times this weekend are: Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $14, or $10 each if you buy a 6- or 10-punch “choice card” at the Erie Playhouse box office. Choice cards can be used for any Youtheatre shows for 18 months from purchase.
